About me:

I am a Montreal native girl. Lived and grew up in a town called Sherbrooke for a while with my parents. There, I studied visual arts in college and in university. I moved back to Montreal in 2012 to study set design at the UQAM drama department. I now work part time as the sound teacher assistant for my study program, and sometimes as a show technician. As you may have deduced, my speciality is designing sound environment for theater but I also enjoy set, light, makeup and accessories design. I basically switched from arts to drama, yet I'm still not sure it is my true calling. I STILL dream to be a cartoonist some day, since I STILL doodle everywhere. I just don't have any structure whatsoever and I'm usually too lazy to draw on command. - Bad start, I know. - I greatly admire Sarah Andersen since I can relate to (almost) EVERY SINGLE STRIPS she does. At a point where my boyfriend is pretty sure I'm her, but I guess many artists can relate to what she draws, because let's admit it guys, we are all a bunch of lazy, fall-loving, introverts, cocooning softies.

What you have to remember: Studies set design, loves sound environment design, doodles everytime it's not appropriate, is fascinated by wiggly arms, struggles to start a webcomic, loves Sarah Andersen, enjoys snoozing, is very friendly but prefers solitude, will act badshit crazy around cats and boyfriend.

Love, E.

Well!

It finally happened! I graduated from my Set Design bachelor degree, so at 27, I'm -apparently- officially a professionnal set designer! (what took me so long is still a mystery though...)
It just hit me that I no longer will go to school. At least for a couple of years, since I might do a master degree when I get enough experience in my domain.

I -naively- hoped it would give me plenty of time to work on my personal projects, but I have been busier than ever on many other exciting projects and also with my side sound tech career, wich is super nice of course.

To think that 10 years ago, I was subscribing to this website, hoping it would get me to draw more and meet talented artists to help me launch my artistic career. Truth is, I finally understood that I'm not willing to be that kind of person who's always super active on the social media. It takes a lot of time that I'm not willing to invest doing that.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm still kind of gripping on that dream, but I figured I had to do it for me first. I had been doing it for the wrong reasons. What does it all mean anyway. I get to improve at my pace, and that's now fine by me. No more productivity pressure, never was into it anyway. :p

Love,
E.

CHATELAINE - La dispute by Eternal-turns-magic
CHATELAINE - La dispute

According to Wikipedia:
"A chatelaine is a decorative belt hook or clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Each chain is mounted with useful household appendages such as scissors, thimbles, watches, keys, vinaigrette and household seals.

Chateleine bags refer to bags suspended from a waistband by cord or chain, which were popular from the 1860s to the end of the 19th century.

Chatelaines were worn by many housekeepers in the 19th century and in the 16th century Dutch Republic, where they were typically used as watch chains for the most wealthy. Similar jewelry was also worn by Anglo-Saxon women, as seen from the burial record, but their function is uncertain. The name chatelaine derives from the French term châtelaine and was originally used disparagingly, as it referred to a device designed to have all the tools necessary for the woman of the household to sort out any problem she may encounter in her day, like a fraying curtain."

And so, I couldn't stop myself to make one, since it's a beautiful and delicate accessory. And I love objects from an other time.
